The past week tested the validity of the U.S. Justice system. It seems as though there were blinders on the eyes of those who could have stopped the unjust execution of convicted murderer Troy Anthony Davis. The State of Georgia went through with the execution despite conflicting evidence and retracted testimonies that prove his innocence. Despite pleas for clemency from top political figures around the world including former President Jimmy Carter, Pope Benedict XVI, former FBI Director William Sessions, former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman Fletcher and Larry Thompson, the former deputy U.S. Attorney General, to name a few. The B&W images are from a protest held the Friday before the execution. The color images are from a protest outside the prison on the evening of the Wednesday, September 21, 2011 execution. A Walk In Downtown Cleveland

They used to call Cleveland, Ohio the mistake by the lake. Well they have done a tremendous job of lifting the city up. It is a showcase of architecture, history and best of all the arts and nightlife. Definitely a vacation destination. Here are a few images I captured "on the quick" while on an afternoon walk through downtown. There's so much more amazing stuff to see and shoot in this city. I spent some time in the Mississippi Delta doing arts and education projects in conjunction with The Delta Research and Cultural Institute at Mississippi Valley State University. Outside of the Emmitt Till museum, this bell was to signal the filed workers (sharecroppers) that it was time to eat.

This is Bryant's Groceries, where Emmett Till whistled at a white woman. The rest is monumental history.
